WBC – World Brewing Congress
Taking place every four years, the World Brewing Congress has been organized to bring the brewing community together to advance the science of brewing by evaluating the latest technologies and sharing proven techniques. This year WBC welcomes you to join us online for a completely virtual meeting experience—WBC Connect 2020!
WBC Connect 2020 is presented by the American Society of Brewing Chemists, Master Brewers Association of the Americas, with active participation from the European Brewery Convention, and the Institute of Brewing and Distilling.
The event begins on September 18, 2020. Bob Hansen, Manager of Technical Services and a technical expert here at Briess, will help to moderate the Malt & Grains I session. If your registration includes a swag bag, keep on the look-out for something cool from Briess!
GABF – Great American Beer Festival
The 39th annual GABF will not be held in Denver this year, but the festival will come to you both virtually and locally through a nationwide “passport” program. Between October 1-18, GABF passport holders will have exclusive access to brewery deals at participating festival breweries nationwide and access to online content during the virtual festival, October 16-17.
For the first time in history, the Great American Beer Festival® (GABF®) Competition Awards Ceremony will be a live broadcast on Friday, October 16 beginning at 5 p.m. MT. All can experience it first-hand at no charge wherever that person would like to stream the affair. Brewers, industry suppliers, beer enthusiasts, and more can enjoy the two-hour Awards Ceremony wherein gold, silver, and bronze medal-winning breweries from 90 style categories will be announced and recognized. For 2020, more than 1,600 breweries have entered 9,000 beers into the Competition, attempting to be among the hundreds of breweries recognized with a coveted award for brewing excellence. Briess will sponsor the award for Small Brewpub and Small Brewpub Brewer of the Year.
