Another great turnout for the biggest beer festival in Washington State held over 3 days on June 16, 17, and 18. Though overcast on Saturday morning for the awards presentation it was well attended by brewers who had submitted beers for judging—this year we judged over 1,200 beers submitted where just 3 short years ago we had <500. This year we again sponsored the large brewery of the year with bragging rights and a prize of 10 free bags of malt. And the prize went to Chuckanut Brewery located in Bellingham and Burlington, Washington!  Chuckanut, founded in 2008 by Mari and Wil Kemper has a huge following and truly hang their hat on lager style beers—not a common practice in hop country Northwest.  A complete list of the winners here:  http://wabeerawards.com/?q=node/19
